Morara was there to participate in a public forum regarding the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. He was preparing to deliver a speech when chaos erupted.

Witnesses saw Morara visibly shaken as chaos unfolded around him, with chairs being thrown in his direction. As the violence escalated, he sought shelter but found himself cornered by the hostile crowd. They continued to hurl projectiles at him. In videos surfacing online, they threw countless seats leaving Morara Kebaso injured.

During this turmoil, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang was observed inciting the crowd. He urged them to intensify their actions against Morara, shouting phrases that encouraged the chaos.

In a post addressing the unsettling events, Morara shared the details surrounding the altercation. He revealed that he had been injured and was on his way to seek medical attention. “I was prevented from entering Bomas initially. After gaining access, I was denied the microphone, and chaos ensued. I am injured and headed to the hospital. I will continue to advocate,” he posted on X.

Before attending the event, Morara had emphasized his determination to speak out. He asserted that if Gachagua were to be removed, President William Ruto should also resign as they were elected together.
